So we have been packing the last couple weeks... here is a nice stack of some of the boxes (at least the ones that are finished) so far. Also my handy dandy list for those wonderful souls that are helping us move. I have sticker-dotted everybox with a certain colour for a specific room so all they have to do is check the dot on the box, check the chart and then take it to that room. This hopefully will limit the amount of box moving around we have to do after.... especially since I shouldn't be lifting the heavy stuff (my back is already a little sore from some quick lifts). Now no one is allowed to mock the chart and the organization. Try it once when you move and I am sure you will see how helpful it can be!!!!!

This week is going to be a crazy one for me as I try to fit in cleaning, planning, teaching, moving and then cleaning the apartment after we move out of it. I also have a big YW event coming up that needs attention. Of course it all happens at the same time. Luckily Ian was able to take the week off and my Dad will come up to help one day this week. Also we have such great, helpful friends ;) There will be pizza to tempt any others that want to come help move at 5:30 on Wednesday evening!!!!
Most of all I am just totally super excited and am almost getting nervous thinking about sleeping in a new house with weird noises to keep me up at night... not to mention the paranoia of worrying about the old owner sneaking back in with his key. Is re-keying the locks obsessive?!?

you're too funny Jen! Hopefully Jayme is done at a decent time and can come help you! I'd offer but I think i'd be more hingerance than help with rug-rats in tow. But let me know if there is anything I can do for ya!!
the dot thing is awesome....I LOVE organization...and no, i would TOTALLy re-key the house, who knows if they lost their keys ever, or whatever, you just have to be safe, rather that than sorry, right? (hope i didnt just freak you out more!)...i am So excited for you guys!
lol, invest in a bat for those late night drunken intruders... j/k. Re-keying the locks isn't a bad idea, plus that way you have original keys too (we've had keys made before with diff stuff and the more you redo them the farther off the mark the new key is... if that makes sense... lose key 1, then 2, etc...)
I think the chart and stickers is such a great idea!!! I've never thought of that, but that would be so much faster than writing on everything!
Nope, I would definitely re-key the locks - some realtors will even pay to have it done for you. Who knows who the previous owners have lent keys to. We have 3 neighbors with keys to our house and I probably would forget to get them back if I moved.
For sure you should rekey the locks. We did when we moved. I don't think it's obsessive, I think it's smart!
jen, you're so organized.... wait 'till you have a baby or two! i'm so excited for you to have your house! we'll definitely have to come visit you sometime!
oh yah... and new locks are a must!
I totally understand about the cleaning the new house thing! I never feel like a place is mine until I've cleaned it.
My mom used colored duck tape (or is it duct tape?) when she moved a few years ago. Each of my sisters (and brother) got a certain color. I think it's a great idea!
