must GET out!

I have been inside ALL week and it is getting to me! The rain was a factor.... THE SNOW is definitely a factor as well as a teething, sick baby.

I am ready for the nice weather to come (and stay) so I can get out, get active and get TANNED! Yay for summer. At least we know that this snow is just a teaser and won't stay for another 5 mths.... boo to that feeling in October :(

While I sit here antsy and ready to jump out of my pants and run down the street in the snow I will make a list of things I am looking forward to this summer...

1. SEEING MY SISTER AND HER TWINS FROM SWITZERLAND!!!!!!!!!
they are coming for 5 weeks and I am SO pumped to meet my nieces and for my sis to meet Hailey.
2. THE SUN
hello... who isn't?
3. SPRAY PARKS
so excited to have a child and a reason to run through the sprinklers (though our Lloyd one is out of commission for another year I think)
4. PICNICS
who doesn't love battling the mosquito's for some sandwiches and fruit salad!
5. A WEEK AT THE CABIN
we are off to Sicamous for a week at the end of July
6. WALKS/BIKERIDES/BBQ'S
7. GROWING A GARDEN
and eating it
8. HAILEY TURNS ONE!
so excited to throw a birthday party in LESS THAN 3 months. hmmmm what theme? maybe polka dots (NO NOT PRINCESSES - gag me) *note - no offense to other parents who have princess parties for their little girls... so cute, but not my thing ;)*
9. SWIMMING LESSONS
because we all know that infants need to learn how to swim ;) Royall it is going to be so awesome!!!!!
10. FAMILY
spending as much time as I can with family. Sorry Ian and Lloyd but I don't plan on being here for too much of the summer.

Okay I know there must be more things but they aren't coming to me now.....

Keep checking the posts because I will be doing a 'day in the life' of Hailey.... just to give you a taste of my crazy girl :)

I love, love, LOVE the sun!

Yay, it is finally spring/summer. Hailey and I have been getting out the last few days enjoying the heat. Almost too much as I felt a little heat stroke yesterday. All is better now as I plan to spend the day inside with my AC.

We have had a CRAZY busy week! It is a nice change from not having enough to do. Is it only WEDNESDAY? Okay... a busy few days....

uh... this is lame. I'm totally not feeling the blogging vibe today. Perhaps due to the nasty post from yesterday.

I guess I will just post some pictures from our second 1st birthday party of the year (many more to come). We have about 12 people in our baby group that regularly get together. All with babies under one (except the 2 that just turned). It has been a blast and I have really enjoyed meeting new people and hearing all about their experiences being new moms' as well. Hailey is also enjoying crawling over (and being crawled over) by all the other babies.

I actually don't have any pictures of the birthday girl... I guess I was being a little biased.... and it was nap time and Hailey was cranky... doesn't make for great pictures.

Here they are

I hate POOP!

First off.... CRANKY morning! I have the joy of being woken up every 3/4 hrs to deal with Hailey in the night. When did my 'newborn' come back? I haven't slept 8 hrs straight since she was born 9 MONTHS AGO! It is a big guessing game trying to figure out what the big problem is now (because there always is one). Usually it is teething... and still is right now as she had a tooth come through a couple days ago and more on the way. I think also it is a cold! ANOTHER ONE! Hailey has been sick for months it seems. We have maybe a week or two between colds and I am SO TIRED of it. Do most babies get sick this often? She didn't have a single illness until she was 6 mths old but now it never ends. I am almost determined to keep her out of public (almost). ALSO she has this dang diaper rash that never seems to go away. It has been months of it... almost healing and then it flairs up again.... not to mention THE POOP. This kid is pooping like crazy (I'm sure doesn't help the diaper rash). I am sick of getting poop everywhere... of her kicking legs that like to dip right in or kick the dirty diaper off the table. I use so many wipes it is RIDICULOUS and switched from Pampers to Huggies in hope of helping the rash problem.

Needless to say I am TIRED! Being tired makes me cranky... being cranky makes me a bad mom. Who yells at a nine month old for pooping? Honestly.... I just need to sleep.... a WHOLE night without disruption. I am so tired all the time that I never feel like doing all the things I need to do. Of course I wish I could sluff off on the cooking or cleaning (really - the cleaning is mandatory for me) so that means that church stuff is tossed aside. It is a good day if I pray at anytime other than a meal. A really good day if I read any type of gospel material (scriptures included). And a miracle if we were to EVER have family home evening (does it count that I am usually home with my family every evening?). Not to mention the calling (yes Lara I know you are freaking out at this point.... I am working on it...). I wish I could just go away for a couple days without Hailey and Ian (the snoring doesn't help the sleeping issue). But of course I can't leave my baby... I would probably just be awake all night worrying about her anyways.

Sigh... I HATE TEETHING.... and poop.

Does it ever end? (I know the poop doesn't ;)

The many faces of Hailey

It amazes me how many different looks this kid gives me! Here are just a few I have captured on camera in the past month:

Super Happy

Crazy Cross-eyed

Sweet Smile

Not Impressed

Mock Surprised

I'm Gonna Get You

Sneaky Squeaker

Lip Licker

Resistance Breaker

Did You Need Something?

Twisty Tongue

Cheeky Cheeser

I Didn't Do It!

Do your babies have this many expressions?
