Our House... down the road on Our Street

Here it is!

This house is just perfect for us. Lots of room to expand into, yard is finished, garage is attached, has A/C, still can use some fix ups, 3 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a living room and family room with a fireplace, large basement windows, a kitchen pantry, a master on-suite with walk in closet and it is all located just down the street from where we live right now.

Just going through the normal processes now of securing finances and getting the home inspection done. We are so excited and are praying that everything is fine with the house. We do know that once we move in the place is going to be pretty empty cause we will have nothing to fill it with!!!!!

We are most excited to have room for guests and company!

Here she is!

Our baby girl is gonna love BLUE! I need to make use of the boy things I already got but also because it is my favourite colour (as well as daddy's) and I don't like pink. So our little girl is gonna wear blue! I don't mind that I will most likely have to tell people that she is a girl... She is already quite feisty as each of the three ultrasounds I have had she was moving around like crazy. She was quite uncooperative this last one and got some good pokes and shakes from the ultrasound tech for it (it was quite uncomfortable for me even). I have yet to decipher the baby's movements but I know it is in there and I know they will start very soon.

It was a great comfort to know that she has got all the parts and pieces she is supposed to have (in the right amounts) and that there are no warning signs for potential problems. She is right on track for the 19 weeks I am at and we already love her to bits!

I am still worried about how big this belly already is but am thankful that nothing else (besides the chest) has enlarged with it! I'll keep you up to date over the remaining 20 weeks until we get to see our precious little girl. Oh we also won't be spilling about the names we are thinking of. There needs to be some surprise for you.... right?

I was SO wrong

Well the baby is a GIRL and I was totally surprised! I don't really know why I was so convinced it was a boy. Perhaps I was just hoping my girls would have a big brother to look out for them cause that is what I always wanted. Either way though we were both so excited. It still makes me laugh though cause I really hadn't even considered having a daughter yet. Who doesn't love little girls though!

We also found out this morning that they accepted our house offer! So we will be official home owners very soon. We will be moving in a month, so I just became very busy.

I have a sub call for this afternoon so I will post again soon about the rest of the details and put up pictures of baby and house.

Thank you to everyone for being so excited for us and waiting all day yesterday to hear the news!

Almost half-way

I'll be 18 weeks on Sunday and it is quite a relief to know that I am almost half-way through this pregnancy. I am hoping the second half is far better than the first cause these last 2 months (Jan/Feb) were just torture. I was just beginning to enjoy being pregnant when new symptoms came along, mainly the disrupted sleep due to frequent eating/peeing, the food that is coming back up a little too easily when I lie down, the headaches (which haven't been too frequent yet but I am keeping an eye on it), the continued digestion issues, the skin which I am beginning to feel get quite tight and the feeling of exploding from the inside. Not to be the complaining one as I am ever so grateful that we have been blessed with this child in the first place. It just goes to show how desperately bored I am with nothing else to occupy my thoughts.

I have developed a sudden need to move into a house right away and am going stir crazy in this apartment (I haven't had any sub calls this week and NEED to get out of the house more). It seems I always have an excuse not to do things.... Hopefully that will change though as I have applied for another teaching position that starts in April till the end of the school year. This should be sufficiently distracting and give me something else to talk about besides feeling yucky.

We find out in 10 days the gender of our baby and though I am confident it is a boy it will still be a surprise! Ah, I'm so excited. I had a dream the other night though that I had a girl and I was really ticked off.... rest assured I would be very excited if it was a girl too. P.S. I can't believe the crazy dreams I have been having! Still haven't felt little Bean move yet but I am 'listening' for when that will happen.

Anywho... nothing else to talk about I guess. I think I will have some ice cream and a nap... though I should really visit the gym before the rest of my body tries to catch up to my stomach!

Family

I am soooo grateful for my wonderful family! I just spent a week in Edmonton and had a great time visiting with friends and spending time with family. They kept me busy while Ian was away.

I have my dear husband back now and am not so willing to let him go again. Hopefully he doesn't get sick of my current clingyness! He was so sweet today when he returned. He called me on the phone and told me to look out our patio door. There he was down below in the -38 wind chill holding flowers up to me. It was like we were dating all over again. I was SO excited to see him. I was also so touched that he thought to bring me flowers. What a darling!

Here are some pictures of my family at Christmas in Hawaii.

So these last couple weeks I have been going a bit crazy with baby/maternity shopping. Here are some pictures of my favourite items. I must say that I am a bit obsessed with onesies. You can never have too many.... right?

Surviving on my own!

The past week without Ian has been good but lonely. I miss Ian so much everyday but have been very blessed this week to have lots of friends calling and coming by to visit. I spent a couple days with Ian's aunt and uncle, a few days with a friend from Calgary and some great times swimming with the Gibb Gang. I had a couple work days and managed to get out and do some shopping. It is amazing how healing shopping can be!

I am definitely ready to have Ian back but still have to wait another week. The public schools have spring break this week so I am heading to Edmonton for the whole week to visit family and friends. I am super excited as I haven't had much time there in the past few months, especially not for friends. So if you are an Edmonton friend and have time to visit this week please drop me a line (at my parents, on the blog, email or facebook) and I will get back to you.
