Hailey and Dad were out in the garden this weekend turning the soil and adding compost to prepare for planting. We are going to try planting this week... a little bit early so we are hoping it doesn't get too cold again!!!!
Ian grew up learning how to grow things with his Mom.... she has a great garden every year. He is now passing on his knowledge to Hailey (and letting her get dirty right along with him). My mom also had a small garden each year which we were responsible for helping with. It was never my favourite thing as a kid (except for the eating part) but now I am finding great satisfaction in helping things grow (as long as I am fully covered from head to toe and wearing gardening gloves - partly due to allergies and partly due to a dislike of bugs and all things dirty).
It is so exciting to see Ian teaching Hailey about the things he knows. He is a great teacher and Hailey loves to soak it all in :)
Hailey planted these with Grandma Laycock during Easter holidays. She loves checking them everyday to see what is happening. She says "more growing" over and over and over!
Ian was also putting in our sprinkler system in the front yard this weekend. He has such great skills :)
