6 mths later.....

It was so nice to go back and look at photos from July (my last post).  Man I miss summer already :)

I'm contemplating if I should even bother trying to fill in the last 6 mths of our lives... Perhaps just through pictures....

Bare with me as I do a quick catch up....

My nephew Jalisco was born :)

Shortly after a niece Alexis :)

We went to Switzerland to visit my sister Stephanie and her family.  This was the girls first trip overseas :)

We found out we were having a BOY!!!!!

Hailey turned 5 years old!

And started Kindergarten (sniff, sniff, hooray!)

Quinn FINALLY was able to take ballet!!!!!

and we clicked some family photos...

We are currently 5 weeks from our due date.  I am hoping baby comes in 2-3 weeks.  Quinn was 3 weeks early so I am hopeful.... it would be so convenient to have baby over the Christmas break... hint, hint!!!!

The year has gone by quickly and yet so slowly as I have been lucky enough to feel sick the entire 9 mths.  We haven't done much extra this year... just did what we could as mommy was sick but it was been enjoyable and an adventure.  We are so excited for Christmas in 10 days tomorrow and then baby.

Merry Christmas and best wishes,

Love the Isackson's.

2013

Wow... December 3rd?  Really?  That was the last time I blogged?  Hmmmm, I guess I have been busy.  Who doesn't have a busy December!  Well it is a new year.  We had a GREAT Christmas, a Great New Years and have been trying to recover ever since ;)

I must say that is a pretty awesome summary of the past month!

We are now getting back on schedule, back to organizing, back to meal planning, back to work, back to the gym and attempting to get back to sleeping through the night.  Why is it that you have to re-train children every time you go somewhere? or every time someone visits?

We have made resolutions, goals and are pondering many 'big' questions like 'more babies?' and 'build a house?'  Those are yet undecided... or decided for a much later date!!!!!

We are focusing on getting our bodies back in shape.  It is a scary day when after 6 years of marriage you look back and say 'MAN WE WERE HOT' and 'WHAT HAPPENED?'.  I'm determined to kick my butt back into shape and am so proud of Ian who is putting in more effort than me.  I'm looking forward to our summer at the lake, rather than dreading the swimsuit season ;)

We are well (besides the non-stop colds that keep coming).  We are happy and we are so very blessed!

Here are a few favourite pictures from our holidays...

This kid will do ANYTHING for marshmellows :)

Ballet class has now switched to tap for the rest of the year

Picture a Christmas!

It is still January so this Christmas post is not extremely overdue!!!!!

We had a good, but sick Christmas this year!  The week before Christmas the nasty nora-virus circulated through our whole house.  It was brutal to suffer through and even harder to watch my little ones endure it.  We were better just in time to travel to my family in Edmonton for Christmas Eve Day.  Sadly the rest of my family got the illness within days of our arrival so our regular festivities (mainly eating) were saved for when people could eat again.  We still enjoyed our visit however and continue to deny our part in spreading the virus ;)

Christmas morning, going to church before opening stockings/gifts

I am still figuring out camera settings on my new Canon Rebel (this will likely be a lifetime process), so the colouring is kind of off in some or others blurry.

I didn't take any pictures of the gift opening but we all were very spoiled and are very grateful.  I think Hailey and Daddy have been enjoying the 'marble works' the most!  We hope you all had a great Christmas and still hold on to the joy of the season throughout the year.  We sure will!

Did you know?

Yes it is true... only 48 days till Christmas

I finished this countdown calendar today and I think it is pretty awesome!  I'm excited to start using it already.  I will try to post a tutorial tomorrow of how I made it.  Check for it on my crafty blog!

Christmas Parties

Ian and I had a great time this past weekend at his work Christmas party in Saskatoon. The company put everyone up in a hotel there with all expenses covered. It was just one night but Ian and I had fun ordering room service and laughing at his intoxicated co-workers. Yay for being sober! We also braved the chilly weather to go to a real mall which was a big thrill for me as shopping is quite lacking in Lloyd. While we were there we also saw Santa Claus (the real one - beard and all).

We came back on Saturday afternoon in time for our branch Christmas party which was so fun. It is starting to feel like family. Most of the group braved the weather again to go carolling (I wimped out and stayed at the chapel) and then we had a wonderful dinner with a dance. We have made some good friends here.

The above pictures are from the work party in Saskatoon (including the view from our 12th floor room). We didn't take any pictures with the group. We also had the camera but didn't use it at the branch party so you just get a look at the dressed up couple in SK (doesn't happen often so a picture was in order).
