A year later.....

Hmmm...

Indie is making me regret neglecting this blog ;)

So it is a year later... less than a week away from summer VACATION!!!!!  It is only a real vacation for Hailey and she bursts into tears everytime I mention school ending.  Should be a fun summer ;)

We took our trailer out last weekend for the first time in 2016.  It was great... minus the first night that Ben screamed all night }:/  I will give him a break though as he was sick with a cold and teething at the same time.  We went out to Dilberry Campground, a short jaunt from Lloydminster.  We had dinner and scoped out the lake temperature... chilly!  All three kids still waded in and played at the park.  We didn't get there till around 6 pm so after that is was smores over the fire and off to bed!  The girls are well seasoned sleeping in the RV and are great.  I brought the playpen still for Ben so we didn't have to sleep train him yet :)

Saturday we spent a good part of the morning being exhausted and lazy from a terrible sleep but eventually did get up and go for a hike which included much freaking out about bugs from Quinn.  What can I say... my daughter!!!  Lol.  The afternoon was spent at the beach on a beautiful day.  Ben even caught a brief nap on Ian.  We went back and hung out in the RV for bit playing games then cooked up some dogs on the fire.

It was a good trip.... and the RV makes 'camping' so enjoyable.  I don't know how my Mother took 6 children tent camping.  Gosh... sounds like a nightmare to me.  I took a total of 5 (3 terrible phone shots) pictures... I will try better next time.

We have also been trying to get out more and ride bikes.  It is a skill that needs some more practice here :)  Hailey is now on 2 wheels and we are so proud of her.  Quinn is doing much better on training wheels but needs to stop daydreaming while she is cycling as she often drives off the path while distracted by something around her.  I do NOT want to be the one to teach her to drive ;)

6 mths later.....

It was so nice to go back and look at photos from July (my last post).  Man I miss summer already :)

I'm contemplating if I should even bother trying to fill in the last 6 mths of our lives... Perhaps just through pictures....

Bare with me as I do a quick catch up....

My nephew Jalisco was born :)

Shortly after a niece Alexis :)

We went to Switzerland to visit my sister Stephanie and her family.  This was the girls first trip overseas :)

We found out we were having a BOY!!!!!

Hailey turned 5 years old!

And started Kindergarten (sniff, sniff, hooray!)

Quinn FINALLY was able to take ballet!!!!!

and we clicked some family photos...

We are currently 5 weeks from our due date.  I am hoping baby comes in 2-3 weeks.  Quinn was 3 weeks early so I am hopeful.... it would be so convenient to have baby over the Christmas break... hint, hint!!!!

The year has gone by quickly and yet so slowly as I have been lucky enough to feel sick the entire 9 mths.  We haven't done much extra this year... just did what we could as mommy was sick but it was been enjoyable and an adventure.  We are so excited for Christmas in 10 days tomorrow and then baby.

Merry Christmas and best wishes,

Love the Isackson's.

Isackson Visit

We had Ian's family come out last week to Lloydminster to visit. Grandma, Papa, Grandma Great and auntie Cora! It was wonderful to see them and we packed our time with lots of fun!

Melted bead fun

Teaching Quinn to ride a bike

Playing at the park

Dance parties with auntie

Making flap jacks with Grandma Great

Colonial days fair watching horses

Petting zoo at fair

Riding rides

And playing games

We had a blast and are now recovering from all the fun :)

Colonial Days Parade

We made our yearly appearance at the Colonial Days parade.  The girls loved it and the weather was perfect. I brought my awesome babysitter with us as I still wasn't feeling great so she could help out the kids while I sat and took it easy.

The candy was a bit stingy this year and was haileys only reason for attendance. She is so focused on getting the goods that it looks like she isn't having fun but I know she did.

Hailey liked the horses and seeing our friend in the marching band. Quinn liked the big trucks but not the noise as both of them covered their ears for much of the parade.

A big thanks to Chelsey for always getting there first and saving the best spots.

Canada Day #2

After our park fun we headed home to have a few friends over in a last min (I'm not feeling too sick) chill gathering.  The Swendsen's and Hunsperger's came to play, eat, visit and hot tub.  We enjoyed the company and food.

The Swendsen's hung out until the fire works and amazing all the kiddos made it to 11pm then Jonah and Quinn fell asleep missing the action.  We couldn't see well from our deck as we hoped but just on the corner from our house was a better view!  We were eaten alive by mosquitos but still had fun.

I'm sure paying today for the late night and active day.  I've felt pretty exhausted and sick all day but it was worth it.  Thanks friends and thank you Canada!  I feel so grateful to have the freedoms we enjoy in this beautiful country we call home :)

Canada Day #1

We had a great Canada Day!  The weather was warm and we only had a brief downpour which we safely hid from under our covered patio.

Ian and I took the girls to Bud Miller park to enjoy the festivities the city had to offer.  They had a ride on  a huge slide, lined up for glitter tatoos, ate free cupcakes, fished for ducks, water gunned golf balls, rode in a horse wagon and played at the park.
