House - no, Emerson Drive - yes

(single tear) So we didn't get the house. I was not surprised though. Someone else had beat us to the punch and already had a counter-offer in so we didn't have much of a chance. We also didn't feel like we needed to pay more than asking price for a house in a buyers market like this. So we return to looking through the mounds of garbage, to hopefully find something as good, if not better next time. This is the home that will never be mine, sigh!

I did, however, purchase tickets this morning for Emerson Drive who is coming to Lloydminster in May. This is Ian's favourite band and I really enjoy them as well. I would think though that a small local concert would be cheaper than the big city and was surprised at the 43$ tickets. Hmmmm, good thing I don't go to concerts often cause that could be a new shirt! A shirt lasts longer and I believe, brings greater joy than an evening at a concert. Hopefully baby at 6 months will enjoy the tune-age as well. I am just grateful for a chair to sit in as I don't think I will want to stand for so long with a big belly.

Anywho, just sitting here blogging to pass some of the day. Happy trails!

Valentines, House Hunting and Baby

Valentine's Day was wonderful! Ian succeeded (under immense pressure) to have a real valentine's day since it was the first one without him in school writing midterms. We had a lovely dinner together on Friday, breakfast made for me Saturday with tulips, mini eggs and a body pillow (by request). I made Ian a stack of Valentine's sugar cookies and am getting Emerson Drive tickets that go on sale this week. It has been a nice weekend.

I also used the rest of my energy yesterday making pink, heart shaped biscuits for our ward potluck. It was fun but I didn't feel so well.

The baby belly is coming along. Showing some signs of emerging though no one really can tell that I am pregnant yet. We are at 13 weeks and starting to feel a bit better. I even got out to work on Friday, though I still feel like I am recuperating. I am still hoping that the sickness leaves and that I can have at least a month or two of feeling 'normal'. Perhaps I am being too optimistic.

Ian decided today to go to church with a creepy mustache. I couldn't help laughing at him every time I saw his face. We are super excited though as yesterday we found our perfect house. It has everything we want with very little work needed (just a paint job). Big decision for us to make but I will let you know what happens and post pics if we buy it.

It's Here!

We made it to December 2 without any bad weather, but now it has come. I guess I shouldn't complain considering we got a whole extra month of fall. The snow is just a skiff but with -25 wind chills there seems no possibility of melting. Bring it on winter.... this will be the last winter we have to survive without a garage so hopefully it isn't too bad.

We are in the process of purchasing a home... and we feel truly blessed to be able to afford a new build here in Lloydminster. We may just get our dream home (a smaller version at least) the first time round. Nothing is signed yet but we have looked at floor plans and lots available. Monday will be decision day! Wish us luck.... it is a huge decision with lots on the plate, especially considering the current economic state.
